For those who are curious of the person
behind the scenes...
I stumbled upon my first comic book
in 1996, Witchblade 10/0 Darkness, while
looking through anotheruniverse.com catalog.
I anxiously awaited its delivery! Upon
the arrival of the comic I discovered
a woman named Sara Pezzini, who struggled
to control a relic that destiny had selected
her to wield. As a woman myself, I found
her character inspirational; her strength,
independence, passion and vulnerability.
Michael Turner’s artwork told an
enigmatic and captivating tale in and
of itself. I was instantly hooked! Who
would have thought this comic would turn
into such an obsession..?
I first met Michael Turner in person
at Bedrock City Comic in Houston, Texas
during his 2000 Fathom Crossover Tour.
Awestruck and tongue-tied, the only thing
I managed to ask of him was a signature
on a Witchblade Repose poster. Needless
to say, I was quite taken with him (and
still am) – shhh! He is
extremely gracious to his fans and genuinely
cares...oh, did I mention he is also
HOT!?!
With my love of comics growing, I attended
my first comic convention in 2003; The
San Diego Comic-Con. The San Diego Con
is a venue whose size alone can overwhelm
a fan before the doors to the convention
floor are even open. A babe in the woods,
I found myself struggling to take everything
in. Since that fateful trip I now attend
several cons across the country every
year; resulting in me establishing friendships
with many talents in the industry. I
cherish these friendships and treasure
the memories each convention brings.
In addition to Michael Turner, a few
other talents I follow are Dean Yeagle,
David Finch, Andy Park, Mike Choi, Talent
Caldwell, Joshua Ortega, Francis Manapul,
Ed Benes, Eric Basaldua, Peter Steigerwald
to name a few. It’s no wondering
my passion for the artwork in comics
has recently extended into collecting
Original Comic Art. For a peek into my
collection check out my personal gallery
